Circle - Private Art Gallery

Berlin, Germany
Work in progress
2023

Circle is a place where art, nature and human presence do not add up, but coincide.
Not as an image or representation, but as a spatial condition: a perimeter that welcomes, a void that measures.

Nature enters space through its essential phenomena: light, wind, matter.
The interstitial space becomes a threshold and a resonance, a place where inside and outside interpenetrate and art and landscape begin to dialogue. Not through decorative fusion, but through balance and measured tension.

The building emerges from a body of water and establishes a silent relationship with the environment.
Presence does not impose, but vibrates: the silence and apparent coldness of matter are animated by the passage of man and the changes in nature, awakening the senses and generating a sense of belonging.

Located in the Tiergarten park, Circle takes the circular shape of the place as its ordering principle.
The central void is not a subtraction, but a fulcrum: the sculpture Amazone zu Pferde , placed in the centre, marks time and regulates the proportions of the space, becoming a visual and symbolic measure of the whole.

A convex covering seems suspended in the air, accentuating the tension between perceptual lightness and the gravity of the material.
A reinforced concrete ring wall delimits the space, while a glass wall facing the center creates continuity between interior and exterior: a gallery of light and shadow in which art is preserved as if in a display case, taking on a character of silent sacredness.
