Fausto Ferrara

Fausto Ferrara (Rome, 4 December 1965) is an Italian architect, artist and author.

He lives and works between Viterbo and international contexts, developing research that investigates the relationship between architecture, space, light, and silence.

His work is articulated in the ongoing project The Measure of Silence, which includes architecture, spatial works, and sculptures, understood as devices for experience and measurement. In this journey, light is not a decorative element, but a structure capable of revealing time, proportion, and the depth of space.

Ferrara's work was presented at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia (2012) and was the subject of critical readings by Franco Purini, Elisabetta Cristallini, Francesco Dal Co, Enrico Crispolti, Philippe Daverio and Kenneth Frampton.

The Spazio Sensoriale project (Palazzo Bembo, 2012) is also analysed in the scientific volume On Soul and Earth: The Psychic Value of Place by Elena Liotta (Routledge, 2006) ISBN 978-1-317-72361-5 , where it is presented as an example of perceptual and relational space.

Alongside his architecture, Ferrara developed a body of sculpture and bas-relief works in which material, cut, and light define essential spaces of suspension and silence.
